Providence Health & Services Resident Care Assistant Day Shift FTE 0.8 in Chewelah, Washington
Providence is calling a Resident Care Assistant (Skilled Nursing Care, Day Shift, 0.8 FTE/32 hours per week) to Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chewelah, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Answer resident call lights and meets resident needs within limitations of activity aide job description.
Use techniques for addressing the unique needs and behaviors of individuals with cognitive impairment including Alzheimer’s, dementia, delirium, developmental disabilities, mental illnesses and other conditions.
Promote and respect the client or resident right to make personal choices to accommodate their needs.
Comply with mandatory reporting requirements by reporting to the department of health and the department of social and health services instances of neglect, abuse, exploitation or abandonment.
Use principles of medical asepsis and demonstrates infection prevention techniques and standard and transmission based precautions.
Demonstrate principles of body mechanics and ergonomics for self and client/resident, using the safest and most efficient methods to lift and move clients, residents, or heavy items.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing Assistant Registered
Completed an approved Nursing Assistant Training Course
Qualified candidate to take Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with DOH
Ability to pass DSHS and State background check
Food Handlers Permit
Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Clinical experience in LTC
Student experiences considered.
