Providence is calling a Registrar ( Patient Registration , Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence St. Joseph's Hospital Hospital in Chewelah, Washington. In this position you will:
Float between Mt. Carmel and St. Joseph Hospitals
Creating a consistent and exceptional patient experience throughout the patient interview process.
Assess patient ability to complete the admission process prior to receiving services or going to their hospital rooms. In some instances, may require bedside registration.
Alert clinical staff if patients need immediate attention.
Ensure patients are registered in a timely manner, ensuring accounts are complete, compliant, and billable and do not require rework or intervention.
Provide armbands in a timely manner and verifies all information on the armband with patient to ensure accuracy.
Request, collect and document co-pays from patients effectively and efficiently within EMTALA guidelines where applies.
Escort and/or direct patient appropriately once registration completed.
Secure patient's valuables in accordance with PH&S procedures, providing appropriate validation documentation and storing valuables in safe as needed. Return valuables to patients at discharge and complete valuables log.
Ensure order entry tasks are completed timely and accurately.
Process in-house patient work queues timely and accurately.
Required qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED
1 year of Customer service or healthcare registration.
National Certification of CHAA is preferred.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Some college level course work particularly Medical Terminology or Medical Assistance coursework
Registrar and third party payor experience.
