Providence Health & Services Dietary Aide / Cook in Chewelah, Washington
Providence is calling a Dietary Aide/Cook (Food and Nutrition Services, Variable Shift, 0.6 FTE) to Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chewelah, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Participates in the workflow of the Foodservice Department, performing tasks such as scrapping dirty dishes, loading and unloading dishwasher, cleaning pots and pans, cleaning/sanitizing utensils, catering supplies, tables and work areas.
Cleans patient food tray carts and/or utility carts. Keeps kitchen/cafeteria orderly and clean. Sweeps and mops floor.
Participates, as a team member of patient trayline and/or cafeteria, gathering and using appropriate supplies and utensils needed for serving. Portions and serves appropriate foods and serving sizes.
Distribute/remove meal carts and/or catering items to/from patient units/meeting rooms.
Properly handle, package, assemble, and store food items.
Performs Long Term Care dining room duties, which may include setting up the dining room for meal service, obtaining meal requests from LTC residents, serving food and beverages, transporting food service equipment to and from the LTC dining room and assisting with the clean up.
Demonstrates ability to work with patients, managers and clients of various ages’ groups.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
Food Service Worker’s permit
Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Cash handling experience
Food service experience
Customer service experience
