Providence Health & Services Chaplain in Chewelah, Washington
Providence is calling a Chaplain - Certified ( Chaplaincy Services , Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chewelah, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
This is a supplemental role that will fill in for sick and vacation days. It will ultimately support both St. Joseph Hospital and Mt Carmel Hospital as well.
In this position you will:
Provides assessment, intervention, and evaluate outcomes of a patient’s spiritual and emotional needs
Develops an appropriate plan and intervention, evaluation and or referral based on the assessment/reassessment.Cooperate with other disciplines, units and programs as an active member of the care team.
Articulates theoretical and practical understandings rooted in sound theology, spirituality, and emotional perspectives.
Demonstrates ability to provide appropriate grief ministry to the cultural/religious spiritual background of persons served.
Provides or facilitates comfort support and complimentary modalities when appropriate.
Participate in the morning report, patient care conferences, family conferences, and on hospital committees as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Certification (or eligible for certification) with an appropriate national chaplain certifying body such as National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) with at least 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
Current ecclesial endorsement from their sponsoring faith community.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Religious Studies, Pastoral Counseling, or related field OR ordained Priest in the Catholic Church
Valid Washington state driver’s license
